About Howard

Howard Goldberg was born in Livingston, and grew up as a member of Temple Beth Shalom. Attending Preschool, Hebrew school, becoming a Bar Mitzvah as well as being confirmed at TBS, he is proud to be a member of the congregation. Now 21 years old, and a 2017 graduate of Ithaca College majoring in Sport Media, he is embarking on a career in TV sports production and a journey of spreading the message of Holocaust survivor Fred Heyman through film.
This journey began when Howard was 12 years old, and led a bus of his friends to Washington D.C. on a Morris Rubell Remembrance Journey. On board the bus that day was Fred Heyman. The two hit it off and Howard decided to share his Bar Mitzvah with Fred. After seeing the Holocaust museum in Washington D.C., a fire was lit in his heart. He promised Fred a film. Goldberg completed the film in November 2015 after 13 months of planning, filming, and editing. The film, titled “Be an Upstander: The Story of Fred Heyman”, premiered in December 2015.
Howard recognizes the importance of passing on the stories of the Holocaust that may soon be lost. As part of the twinning program, Howard made a promise to retell his twin, Fred’s, story in 2045, to 100th anniversary of the end of the Holocaust.
In the recent summers, Howard has worked for CBS Sports and the New York Jets, keeping his passion for sports and entertainment at the forefront. Goldberg lives in Livingston with his parents, and older brother.
